about

Inspired by the opensignal 2015 festival I attended during the day on May 9th, that same night I went to record the Nobska foghorn for the first time in years. The lack of wind and relatively peaceful surf made for a tranquil field recording. Please note that the Nobska foghorn enters around the seven minute mark, and the secondary foghorn which is likely the one on West Chop solos until then.

I returned the night of May 11th to record again. I found a more active sonic scene including a fishing boat followed by trilling terns, and the appearance of a loon. The Nobska bluff is truly a place of many moods, and I was pleased to continue the work begun with the first Nobska release: scutopus.bandcamp.com/album/nobska

Two lengthy tracks, a 77-minute-long release. Enjoy!
