Schander 08:16

From 1998 to 1999 I took Vassar College's Electronic Music Studio class, and subsequently two independent studies (1999, 2000) in the studio. Though I can hear mistakes and things I would do differently now in these four tracks, these are the most coherent and interesting of the 6 projects I finished during those two years. To make these tracks I either used a Kurzweil K2000RS, or Digital Performer on a Power Mac, using DP's MIDI sequencing to bring the K2000RS alive. Digital Performer was a lot of fun for me, because its time stretch algorithm had different qualities to its digital artifacts compared to the programs I used on my own at that time: Cool Edit and Cakewalk.

The Digital Performer time stretch sound is integral to track 2 on this EP. Tracks 1 and 3 focus on the K2000RS, and track 1 has some Zorg Z1 in it as well. Track 4 is primarily Digital Performer.

All tracks created at Vassar College's Electronic Music Studio, 1998-2000.
